Edna was my step grandma. I remember chickens and my sister remembers the ride on lawn mower! Nice to read the kind messages

It has been wonderful to read all the tributes to Edna, all of which I echo. Edna (whom I always called "Teddy") met when we both worked as Secretaries at London Bible College in the mid-1960s. We have been fast friends ever since, and our lives have been intertwined in so many ways, including the fact that we both married in our mid-40s. Edna has been a most wonderful and faithful friend, such an example in her unshakeable trust in God whatever the circumstances. We had so many lovely times together, holidays and weekends, always something to look forward to, and so much fun. Her home, as I often told her, was the most relaxing place for me to be, and a haven in times of trouble. My home is full of reminders of Edna,(kitchen gadgets like Beverley, and many other things. I shall miss her so very much, but am delighted for her that she is with her Lord and with Peter, and freed from her suffering. I am so, so thankful for her friendship, love, care and support throughout my life. Terry Elphick

Having known Edna since we both lived in Boundary Road, Wood Green there are so many enjoyable memories, like knocking on her door and saying "I've got a new car from work which needs running in, let's go for a ride...." Then there was the time she was on the back of my BSA and she asked "Alan, has this motorbike GOT silencers?" Back in the '60s Edna said she wanted to buy her first car so I helped her acquire an Aubergine Ford Anglia from one of my workmates - very cool! It was SO cool that it got stolen but was found again by one of our friends as it was such an unusual colour. When I needed part-time casual drivers to move my Rental vehicles around London, Edna stepped in to help. We had to find her a cushion when she drove the vans. Folks have mentioned how special she made their children feel, one time when we visited Dawn Chorus she had deliberately left the paddock grass so our sons could have a go on the ride-on mower - yep! they loved it. In 2013 we had sold our London house and there was a delay before we could move into our new one so Edna just said "I'm away so you can live in my house ......" so generous. One time when we arrived at "Woodpeckers", straight after coffee ( mandatory on arrival ) she announced "let's go to Blakeney to see the seals". So off we went! The north Norfolk coast was one of her favourite outings with us. Alan Warwick

Edna was one of the wisest, most perceptive, faith- inspiring and faithful people I knew, during my years together with her in the church in Norwich. More recently, I was overjoyed when I was able to help her achieve publication of her wonderful devotional writing, through CWR, as her Bible knowledge and wisdom needed to be shared widely! Although small in stature, Edna was a giant in faith and some of her personal testimonies continue to inspire me. May she now be rejoicing with her Lord. Edna, truly the best friend anyone could have.... caring, fun, honest, loving, selfless, wise, a bundle of energy -'til her health problems grew too severe- without a shred of self-pity.. in spite of difficulties life threw at her...Heaven will have stood and cheered as she arrived. Remembering a wonderful friend who was always there (with abundant patience!) to encourage and support me, and my family, over the years - and so many others too. Edna was always there to listen, and pray for others, but never one to dwell on her own problems. God's love and her passion for him overflowed through her teaching during our weekly homegroup meetings and occasional weekend or day retreats - something Edna wanted us all to know in our lives. Missing you so much dearest friend-what an amazing privilege it is to have been your friend. I moved from Liverpool to Mattishall to marry John in February 2005. We met at All Saints but it was in September of that year that we grew close when John did your loft conversion at Woodpeckers. Such wonderful memories of our times together-so much fun and laughter on our jolly jaunts! Alongside that, I thank and praise God for his anointing of you in your exceptional ministry-set apart! I will never cease to be thankful for the amazing times we spent praying and delving into Scripture together or as a group. As the Lord welcomed you home I know He would be saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Psalm 73:23-26 Glory to God. Thank you so much Edna.

Oh Edna, how we miss you. Your friendship over the past few years has been a joy to us both. Your regular text messages, our little chats and waving to you as we go in and out had become a way of life. A friendly, loving, mischievous and caring lady, we were privileged to know you. I first had the pleasure of meeting Edna when she taught me RE at Costessey High school, imagine my surprise when myself and family joined All Saints church some 25 years later and my old school teacher was sitting in front of me! I had a good relationship with her as my teacher, but as a family we had the privilege of getting to know Edna personally. She supported us with wisdom and kindness through some challenging times and would often send a prayerful message if we hadn't seen her. A true woman of God and an inspiration, so lovingly thought of by all the family. Debs, Nigel, Hannah, Sophie and Ruby Edna also became a customer of our previous business, Go Green gardening services. All the team send their thoughts and sadly miss their favourite customer. We thank God that He brought you into our lives. You have been such a wonderful friend, mentor and support to us since we met you. We have had so many special times together including amazing holidays in Scotland and Northumberland. Jig saw times, whisky tasting - not literally only Mike - laughter and much more. You have been a huge part of our life and we will miss you. Even the last few weeks I have picked up the phone to text you most days. Your faith shone through and it was Rock Solid. You have been a blessing to us but we thank God that you are enjoying your time with your beloved Peter once again and you are in the safe arms of your Heavenly Father. Your presence will be missed. We are so sorry circumstances prevent us being present at Edna's funeral service. Seems like yesterday we listened to her being interviewed in Necton Church as to why she read her Bible ....and that was the beginning of our 40+ years of an amazing friendship for the tatt family. We all miss you but know you 'ran the race' and are with The Lord we Love.

All of the Mills' Family (Andrew & Beverley; Sean & Jen; Alastair & Sarah; Vicky & Peter: Hana, Grace, Ned and George) will greatly miss lovely Edna who had so much influence on all generations of the family. We have lots of reminders of Edna in our home and garden, including many unusual kitchen gadgets she bought us, recipes for cakes etc., especially her wonderful marmalade, and the many plants she transplanted from her garden to ours. Andrew has memories of Edna going back to childhood years; including Guy Fawkes parties at her home in Wood Green, and happy summer holidays in the Isle of Wight and Wales. In more recent years Beverley and Andrew have explored the Highlands of Scotland with Edna from Mark's cottage north of Loch Lomond. There are so many memories of good times with Edna over a lifetime that there is not room here to recount them all ! Edna often stayed with us in Devon, and we often visited her at Eaton, Dawn Chorus and Woodpeckers, she played with all of our children and subsequently all of the grandchildren, Peter is her Godchild. We spoke to Edna two or three times a week by phone and Facetime, most calls lasted longer than an hour. We shall miss these regular chats and all of the happy times over many decades very much. We are sure that Edna is now with Peter again looking down on all the people who loved her so much. Love from all the Mills Family xx

As a family, we've known Edna for many years: through the church in Mattishall and her work at Letton Hall Christian Conference Centre. We'll always remember Edna as caring, loving and compassionate towards others. She had a strong faith in God and loved sharing that faith with others through Bible study, teaching and prayer. We'll also remember Edna for her great sense of humour: she loved to laugh. Edna was incredibly perceptive; she always knew what to say and how to support people whether they were facing joys or tribulations. So often she would send a well worded text message or prayer of blessing at just the right moment. The impact Edna had on the lives of others will endure and though we're sad to have lost such a dear friend, we remain thankful that our lives have been intertwined in Edna's rich tapestry. As we think of Edna, we stand assured of her destination knowing that she is in the arms of the Almighty and sheltered by the shadow of his wings. We moved to Norfolk in 2007 and worshipped at Mattishall church. We joined the Woodpeckers house group and Edna became our friend .She was our light and teacher every thursday night .The whole group became our family.Her concerns for other people always came first despite her ongoing medical condition.After nine years in Norfolk we returned back to Derbyshire where we kept in contact with Edna.We will miss her but never forget her.Bryn and Maureen x

I am glad to be able to honour Edna's life in this tribute. My sister, Patricia McClung, worked with Edna at Costessey High School and joins me in thanking God for Edna. After Tricia emigrated to the USA I took my turn in working with Edna at Costessey. She was a great friend and helpful colleague to us both in those years. After Edna retired and I moved on, we have kept in good contact (albeit interrupted by Covid!).
